The details

Plan the light before the final finish.

Think about where you want light: downlights in display shelves, concealed LED strips, behind the TV or beneath floating cabinets. Dimming and controls can be discussed alongside the fittings.

Include existing socket locations, aerial points and any soundbar or games console in your brief. The installation requirements, testing, certification and any additional work will be confirmed in your quote.

The details

Light for the way you use your room.

Bring together the light you need every day and the softer lighting you enjoy in the evening. Consider feature pendants, shelf downlights, concealed LED strips, TV backlighting and lighting beneath fitted cabinets.

We can discuss warm or cooler light, dimming and where controls are most convenient. Share the fittings you like and any equipment you already own so compatibility can be considered before choices are finalised.

A little warmth, a little character.

The details

Keep the practical connections in the plan.

Think about the television, electric fire, soundbar, games console and internet equipment as one layout. Planning socket and connection positions early helps avoid awkward cables and makes future access easier.

Tell us where existing sockets, switches and aerial points are, and whether anything needs moving. Electrical installation requirements, testing, certification and any work needed beyond the feature wall will be confirmed as part of the quote.

Set the mood for the evening.

The details

Small details make evening light feel right.

Shelf lighting can highlight your favourite objects, while concealed strips add a softer glow around panels and joinery. The position of the fitting matters as much as its brightness, especially around a television screen.

Use the general contact form for a separate lighting enquiry. For a complete media wall, choose your layout in the quote planner and add your lighting preferences in the optional project details.

Useful to know

Your questions, answered.

Can I choose LED strips or shelf downlights?

Both can be discussed. Send an inspiration image and tell us which shelves or panels you want to light. We will consider fitting positions, controls and access alongside the build.

Can I supply my own light fittings?

Share the product details before buying or booking. Suitability, compatibility and exactly what is supplied by each party will need to be agreed.

Can I enquire about lighting without a media wall?

Yes. Choose Electrics on the general contact form and describe the room, the existing setup and the changes you have in mind.
